The Series 1585 is a thrust stand for designers of UAVs, drones and other propulsion systems using brushless motors. It features a USB interface and powerful software for automated control and data-logging.

The Series 1585 is an updated version of the Series 1580 thrust stand.

This tool measures both thrust and torque and is rated for motors and propellers generating thrusts of up to 5 kgf (11 lbf). It has an electrical power measurement limit of 50 V and 55 A, the load measurement has a sampling rate of 50 - 80 Hz, depending on your computer.

The Series 1585 thrust stand includes an electrical RPM sensor, but it may be incompatible with your specific motor/ESC/voltage combination. The Optical RPM probe solves this problem and it has improved accuracy and reliability to enhance your motor speed measurements.

The temperature probe directly connects to one of the three “Temp” connectors on the Series 1585 circuit. The temperature data is also part of the generated log files. The software can be configured to work in Celsius, Fahrenheit, or Kelvin.

  • Measures temperatures from -10 °C to +120 °C
  • ±0.5 °C accuracy from -10 °C to +85 °C
  • 800 ms update rate

The No-Solder board is a simple board that can be fixed directly on your thrust satnd, allowing the installation of various types of ESCs and motors (inrunners and outrunners) without any soldering. Three lug connectors on the board can accommodate bullet connectors of up to 6 mm or bare wires.

The Series 1585 is equipped with hinges that can be replaced with the L Brackets. These brackets are designed and tested to increase reliability and accuracy of the torque measurement. They are recommended when you need to test tiny motors and propellers generating less than 0.1 Nm of torque.

Thrust stand software only works on Windows

The hardware seems fine, but I can't use it because the software keeps crashing on macOS and Linux. It's also very difficult to install on Linux.

Hi Akhil,

We appreciate your feedback. We do have a number of customers for which the software works well on Mac, but it has not undergone the same amount of real-world testing because the vast majority of our customers use Windows.

The RCbenchmark software is open source and the source code can be found at this link: https://gitlab.com/TytoRobotics/RCbenchmarkGUI. We would be happy to accept a merge request to update the software.

Poverful tool 1585

I bought it one month ago and I can say that’s a hi-quality product. It can measure wide range of parameters simultaneously. The best tool to improve characteristics of propellers.

Serie 1580

Very complete, nice-looking and versatile testbench to record multiple data in a single shot. Characterizing a propeller has never been so easy!

Series 1580

We have been using the 1580 series for over 4 years now. I just purchased a second unit for the team that is using it to test custom prop profiles and motors. We have hundreds of hours of testing on our first system so it was an easy choice to buy another.

Testbench 1580

I have used the 1580 series for a couple of days now and I am very happy with how it works. I could get good and repeatable measurement results.
The automatic scripts got me up to speed quickly to get a large number of tests in.
